Kitwe United won promotion to the FAZ Super League following a 2-0 victory over Zesco Luapula in Mansa on Sunday. Second placed Kansanshi Dynamos beat Ndola United 2-0 in Solwezi. Holy Songwe opened the scoring for the visitors on 44th minute through a header before Emmanuel Chisala increased the tally to 2-0 with his 89th minute goal. Sunday's win has pushed United to 62 points two better than second placed Kansanshi Dynamos. Kitwe United has been absent in the Zambia super league having played last in 2006. There promotion ensures Kitwe City has now three teams in the super league. Like Ndola City with Zesco, Buildcon and Forest Rangers Kitwe will have Power Dynamos, Nkana and Kitwe United.
Nkana finished third in the just ended 2017 MTN-FAZ Super Division season with a 4-0 thumping over already relegated Konkola Blades at Nkana Stadium on Saturday. At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Zesco United were confirmed champions after beating Mufulira Wanderers 4-2 at the same time relegating Wanderers to division one. Striker Jesse Were scored a brace while Ching'andu and Kambole netted a goal apiece. Winger Guilly Manziba scored the two goals for Wanderers. Striker Walter Bwalya put Nkana in front on 16th minute before attacking midfielder Harrison Chisala doubled the advantage on 34th minute. Nkana went into half time leading by 2-0. Nkana leapfrogged Zanaco to second position with a 2-1 win over Mighty Mufulira Wanderers in the Week 37 match of the FAZ Super League on Saturday in Mufulira. Kalampa qualified for next year's continental football after Lusaka Dynamos went down to Kabwe Warriors 1-0 at home in Lusaka. Kalampa could drop to third or fourth place on Sunday should Green Buffaloes and Zanaco win their respective matches. Zanaco and Buffaloes are on 67 points each on 3rd and 4th place respectively. Saturday's win is Kalampa's fourth straight win a row. Nkana move to 68 points two behind leaders Zesco United (70) who are in action on Sunday.
