Chan 2025 Zambia vs Angola: Zambia’s men’s national team have slumped to their second successive defeat, falling 2–1 to Angola after once again throwing away a lead in the second half.
The second match for Zambia at Chan 2025 Nyayo National Stadium, Zambia vs Angola, began with flashes of promise — Chipolopolo Charles Zulu’s darting run in the 10th minute won Zambia’s first corner, and there were moments of sharp movement in the final third. But the warning signs were there early. Kelvin Kampamba’s 16th-minute yellow card and Evans Kayombo’s 18th-minute miscontrol in the box showed a lack of composure.
Francis Mwansa was called into action in the 33rd minute with a superb save from Anderson Cruz, while a 35th-minute Evans Kayombo goal was controversially ruled out. Defensively, Zambia were stretched — Wilson Chisala’s 38th-minute foul on Tomas was the last line of defence after John Chishimba was left for dead in a foot race.
The breakthrough finally came in the 72nd minute when Dominic Chanda headed in from a Kelvin Kampamba set piece. Instead of using the lead to settle and control the game, Chipolopolo’s shape disintegrated. Angola equalised just six minutes later through Joao Manha, and by the 85th minute, Joao Chingando had put the hosts ahead.

Even with nine minutes of added time, Zambia couldn’t find the quality or urgency to rescue the game. The substitutions felt reactive rather than strategic, and the final whistle confirmed what has become a worrying pattern — a lack of tactical discipline, poor defensive organisation, and inability to protect leads.
For a team aiming to reassert itself on the continental stage, this performance was another step backwards. Chipolopolo fans deserve better than a side that starts brightly but fades when it matters most.
Chan 2025 Zambia vs Angola Final Score: Zambia 1–2 Angola.
Mental lapses and poor game management continue to cost Zambia dearly.
