Zambia U-20 Men’s National Team defender David Hamansenya has completed a move to Spanish Segunda Division outfit CD Leganés.
The youthful towering defender has been one of the standout players for Zambia at youth level, showing composure on the ball and a knack for reading the game. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with scouts quickly snapping him up for European football.
Leganés, who currently compete in Spain’s second tier, will be looking to add depth and strength to their backline, and Hamansenya’s arrival fits perfectly with their ambitions. For Zambia, it’s another exciting export to Europe and a reminder that local talent can continue to shine on the international stage despite the recent downward performace of the national team.
This transfer marks a big step for Hamansenya, who now joins the dwidling list of Zambian youngsters breaking ground in European leagues. Fans back home will be eager to see how he adapts to the tactical and fast-paced Spanish game.
For now, it’s goodbye Zambia, hello Spain for the defender. All eyes will be on him to see if he can rise through the ranks and one day make it to La Liga.
