13 June 2025 Enala Phiri Turns Up at Konkola Blades: Konkola Blades Queens FC officially unveiled Enala Phiri as the new Head Coach, handing her a three-year contract ahead of their first-ever campaign in the Eden University Women’s Super Division.
Coach Enala arrives in Chililabombwe with a well-established reputation in Zambian women’s football. She is currently serving as First Assistant Coach for the Zambia Women’s National Team under Swiss head coach Nora Häuptle. Her experience with the national setup dates back to 2006, when she coached the Under-17 girls. She later became the only female coach to lead Zambia’s U-23 Women’s Team, a milestone that remains unmatched.
Holding a CAF A-License, Phiri has coached several top-tier women’s teams including Indeni Roses, Lusaka Dynamos Ladies, and NAPSA Stars Women. Her coaching style blends tactical structure with player development—two key pillars that align with Konkola Blades’ long-term vision.
Speaking at her unveiling, Phiri said:
“It’s a true honour to join Konkola Blades Queens. I’ve followed this team and see great potential. The players look organised, hungry to improve, and I’m confident we’ll align well with my strategic goals.”
Phiri will be joined on the technical bench by Chipulu Chileya, who returns to the club as Assistant Coach and Physical Trainer.
The timing of her appointment couldn’t be better. Konkola Blades Queens recently secured promotion from the Women’s National League after a strong 2024/25 campaign. According to club president Geoffrey Mumba, the aim now is to solidify the club’s status in the Super Division and continue building a competitive, sustainable team.
The appointment, shared via the club’s official page, signals a strong commitment to structure, development, and progress—as the Sharp Razor Queens sharpen their blades for Zambia’s top-flight women’s football.
