Past Meetings

Nakambala Leopards will be out with strong teeth and deadly claws when Zesco United venture into their territory in a rescheduled Week 17 match this afternoon.

Zesco United won 1-0 in the reverse fixture played on Sunday thanks to a first half goal by Ayo Oluwafemi.

Nakambala put up a spirited performance on Sunday and a repeat of the character they showed away from home might just yield a desired result.

They need to get themselves out of the relegation zone and to do that they need to defeat Zesco United by at least six unanswered goals and hope that Green Eagles and Lumwana Radiants lose to Lusaka Dynamos and Zesco United respectively on Saturday.

Any result short of a victory will confirm Nakambala Leopards’ demotion from the MTN FAZ Super League.

Zesco United need at least a point from the match to move above rivals Nkana on goal difference and have to defeat Lumwana Radiants on Saturday to finish second.

This afternoon’s match is no ordinary one as it will set the mood for Saturday’s matches.

Nkana, who themselves are looking for a second place finish, as well as relegation threatened Green Eagles and Lumwana Radiants will be monitoring events with keen interest.
