Nkana aim for 16th charity shield title without Apanane

Ndola city come to a standstill as Fifteen time Charity Shield holders Nkana fc are set to lock horns with Zesco United in this year’s Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

The two giants have met twice in this competition with Zesco United emerging victorious in both ties. In 2015 Zesco beat Nkana 5-4 on post match penalties at Arthur Davies Stadium to advance to the final . Nkana were also culprits in 2011 when they were defeated 3-0 in the final.

Nkana head in today’s game without the services of Diego Apanane, Macduff Chungu and Christopher Munthali . The trio are nursing injuries.

United beat Power Dynamos 4-2 to advance to the final while Nkana baptised Zanaco 3-0.

The 2017 MTN FAZ super league kick off on Saturday, April 8.
