Nkana FC have a daunting task on Sunday as they lock horns with FAZ Super League leaders Zesco United in a Week Four fixture at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile. Kick-off is at 15: 00 hours and the game will be live on SuperSport 9.
Stakes are high in this Copperbelt Derby with heated debates going round on social media between Zesco and Nkana FC supporters on who will carry the bragging rights come Sunday.
Zesco who have nine points from three matches have been a thorn in Kalampa’s flesh since 2004 having beaten them 10 times in the last 16 meetings.
Zesco are bubbling with confidence ahead of the crucial encounter having recorded positive results against Nchanga Rangers and Nakambala Leopards.
A win on Sunday will see the Ndola outfit extend their unbeaten run to four games in a row. Also Kalampa knows the magnitude of this particular encounter and will not want to allow the Ndola club to reign supreme over them.
Nkana have beaten Zesco once in 13 years via a 3-2 score line at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday, November 6 2016 with Walter Bwalya and Simon Bwalya being goal scorers. The Kitwe side head into Sunday’s game coming from an emphatic 2-0 win over Napsa Stars in the Week three fixture.
Nkana will be without their talismanic striker Walter Bwalya who has been handed a three match ban by FAZ for shoving referee Wellington Kaoma during the Final of Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Community Shield against Zesco
Bwalya is expected to be available in the away fixture to Green Buffaloes in Week 5.
