Bottom of the group, backs to the wall – can Chipolopolo shock Morocco and spark a CHAN 2025 comeback? The Chipolopolo are staring down the barrel at CHAN 2025.
The Chipolopolo’s CHAN 2025 journey has been anything but a leisurely stroll – more like a bruising uphill battle. Two games in, two defeats, zero points, and pride on the line. From the DR Congo setback to the Angola disappointment, Zambia now stands at the cliff’s edge with nowhere left to step but forward.
Match Day 3 brings Morocco into the path, and for Zambia, it’s do-or-die. The Atlas Lions of Morocco will roar 4pm at Nyayo National Stadium. Lose today, and the tournament ends in silence. Win, and the dream flickers just long enough to take one last swing at the hosts Kenya – who are already being promised Ksh Ks 2.5 Million by President Ruto if they beat Zambia. The fire is lit in Nairobi, and the Chipolopolo must now decide if they will be burned or blaze through.
We have to believe In Ourselves
Speaking at the pre match press briefing at Moi Moi International Sports Centre Zambia’s capatain at Chan 2025 Kemuka said Zambia has to believe in ourselves. “Zambia has always reached the quarter-finals yes, but it’s not over yet because we will have a good game against Morocco. We expect a tough game. They should not underrate us because we will give them a good run for their money,” he said.
The Group A standings speak louder than any pep talk – Kenya (7 points) already in control, Angola chasing at 4, Morocco and DR Congo at 3, and Zambia alone at the bottom. The maths are merciless: only victory today keeps hope alive. A win would jolt Zambia’s campaign back to life, throwing them right back into the hunt for a quarterfinal berth. With Group A still wide open and the top two spots yet to be locked, three points today could turn the whole table on its head.
This is more than just football. It’s about showing fight when the chips are down, closing ranks when the critics circle, and proving that the Chipolopolo spirit isn’t measured on a table, but in the roar that comes when the whistle blows.
Today, Zambia either marches on or strolls straight out of CHAN 2025. The drums will beat, the flags will wave, but the answer – fight or fade – will be written on the pitch.
