Women Football Sigining Hazel Nali: Zambia’s Copper Queens exceptional goalkeeper, Hazel Natasha Nali, has made a big move in the local women’s football scene — sealing a two-year loan switch from Green Buffaloes Women to Zesco United Women.
The transfer, confirmed by Zesco United’s media department, marks a significant reinforcement for the Ndola-based club. “Hazel’s wealth of experience and skill will undoubtedly strengthen our goalkeeping department. Let’s give a warm welcome to Hazel Natasha Nali,” the club announced.
Hazel, known for her commanding presence between the posts, brings with her an impressive resume. The 27-year-old shot-stopper has represented Zambia on the biggest stages — including two WAFCON tournaments and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Despite a recent knee injury that saw her miss the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Nali remains a cornerstone figure in Zambian women’s football.
Her move to Zesco comes at a time when the club is pushing to build a more competitive and experienced squad. With her leadership at the back and international exposure, Nali is expected to bring both stability and inspiration to the younger players in the team.
Zesco Ndola Girls will be looking to capitalize on Nali’s expertise as they aim for dominance in the FAZ Women’s Super League.
Zesco women football play their first league game on 10th August 2025 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium against Green Buffaloes. Mens team will host Power Dynamos.
