Kalampa Nkana have a daunting task on Saturday to overturn the 3-0 defeat suffered at Stade Du 20 Aout 1955 in Algeria against CR Belouizdad as two sides battle it out in the return leg, first round match of the Caf Confederation Cup at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.
Kick-off is at 14h00.
Meanwhile, Belouizdad arrived in Zambia on Thursday afternoon ahead of their Caf Confederations Cup match against Nkana.
The Mopani sponsored side need to score 4 unanswered goals to be sure of progressing to the pre group stage.
Nkana head into Saturday’s match bubbling with confidence after seeing off Zesco United 4-3 in the 2018 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final match last Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium.
The Wusakile boys must replicate the performance exhibited in 2014 when they downed Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland 5-2 after losing 2-0 in Swaziland.
As for Belouizdad, the three goals scored in Algiers gives them huge advantage as they prepare to face Nkana.
The Beston Chambeshi coached team conceded three goals in second half after comfortably holding the Algerian outfit 0-0 in first half during the first leg match in Algeria.
In the last three matches, Nkana have conceded 7 goals and have scored 6 goals.
“We need to work on our defence “, Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi said in his post match interview after beating Zesco in Charity Shield final match.
Winner between Nkana and Belouizdad will progress to the pre-group stage where they will be drawn against losers from this month’s Caf Champions League.
Gate charges have been pegged at K20 Open wing, K100 VIP and K200 VVIP.
In Caf Champions League, Zambia’s envoy Zesco United and Zanaco are away to Asec Mimosas of Ivory Coast and Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland respectively for the return leg match.
United were beaten at home 1-0 by Asec on the same day Zanaco lost 2-1 to Swallows.
