Ten man Assembly hold favorite Nkana as Kitwe United cut Power

Nkana on Tuesday came from a 2-1 down to force a 2-2 draw with the Parliamentarians National Assembly in one of the Week 22 match of the MTN-FAZ Super Division played at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile .

And the same venue ,during the lunch-time kick off , Buchi Boys , Kitwe United stunned Power Dynamos 1-0 to move 11th on the FAZ Super league table .

Nkana opened the scoring after 17 minutes through Idris Ilunga Mbombo but his goal lasted for only 2 minutes before Assembly s’ Peter Mwengani restored parity .

Both teams went into half time locked at 1-1 .

In the second stanza , the visitors came out strong and pressure paid off on 52nd minute when Bondo Pungi doubled the lead capitalizing on Nkana’s defensive blunder . However, the visitors played last 25 minutes with a man down after Luka Chamanga was sent off for the second bookable offence .

Nkana’s Ronald Kampamba leveled the scores in 75th minute when he scored from a close range. Kalampa is 4th on the log after Tuesday’s draw with 38 points while Assembly lie 16th on 18 points from 22 matches .

 

Meanwhile, Kitwe’s Emmanuel Chabula scored his 7th goal of the season when he punished Dynamos with his lone goal. This was Kitwe’s second win barely 3 days after thumping Kabwe Youth Academy 4-1 last Saturday at Arthur Davies Stadium.

United sit 11 on the table with 29 points after playing 22 matches while Power remain 6th place on the standings on 37 points with a game in hand. Zesco United remain top of the table with 51 points after 21 matches seconded by Green Buffaloes on 46 points .

Kabwe Warriors occupies 3rd place with 41 points while Zanaco and Power are 5th and 6th with 38 points and 37 points respectively .

Power will host Nkana in their next match at Arthur Davies Stadium.
