Zesco United won against Al Ahly at Levy Mwanawasa



Zesco United overcame Konkola Blades 2-0 in MTN FAZ Super League week One rescheduled match played on Wednesday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

It was United’s first domestic league match after being involved in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Lazarous Kambole headed in a Fackson Kapumbu cross after 44 minutes of play to give the host 1-0 lead before half-time. United were awarded a penalty in second half but Jesse Were failed to convert from the spot kick.

Striker Idris Mbombo made it 2-0 in 74th minute thanks to a Kapumbu free kick. The Ndola side move up to 7th position on the league table with a game in hand against Nakambala Leopards.

And United host Nchanga Rangers on Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in week 3 fixture.
