ZISD Women Secure Dominant 4-1 Victory Over Mufulira Wanderers Queens in FAZ Women’s Super Division Week 31

Week 31 of the FAZ Women’s Super Division came with thrilling matches as the teams battled to secure their spots in the league standings. The much-anticipated match between Mufulira Wanderers Queens and ZISD Women was the highlight of the week, and it didn’t disappoint.

The match played at the Shinde Stadium, saw ZISD Women dominate from the start, putting immense pressure on their opponents. The Queens couldn’t keep up, and ZISD Women took full advantage of their shaky defense. In the 24th minute, Egness Tumbare of ZISD Women scored the opener, giving her team the lead. The Queens fought hard to level the scores, and their efforts were rewarded when Angela Chibangu scored the equalizer in the 41st minute.

However, ZISD Women came back stronger in the second half, determined to secure a win. Vitumbiko Mercy Mkandwire scored in the 57th minute, followed by goals from Inonge Kaloustian and Christine Kapikisha in the 69th and 85th minutes, respectively. The Queens tried to mount a comeback, but it was too little too late, and the match ended 4-1 in favor of ZISD Women.

In other matches, Green Eagles defeated BUSA 2-1, thanks to a brace from Rachel Moono. National Assembly and Queens Academy settled for a 1-1 draw, with Nandipha Mkombe and Cindy Banda scoring for their respective teams.

Play It Forward beat Elite Ladies 2-0, with goals from Mulemwa Phiri and Selina Mashawa. Prison Leopards Queens and Police Dove Queens played to a goalless draw, while Red Arrows secured a 2-0 victory against ZANACO Ladies, with Mary Mulenga and Aliness Kasoma getting on the scoresheet.

The Air Ladies (Red Arrows) shoot to the top of the table with 72 points, three better than defending champions Green Buffaloes who have played a match less.

The results of week 31 have significant implications on the league standings, with some teams moving up, while others slid down the table. The FAZ Women’s Super Division has been thrilling so far, and fans can’t wait to see what the remaining matches hold in store.
