Week 6 of the MTN Super League dished out late drama, hard-fought wins, and a flurry of draws across Zambia.
In Choma, Green Eagles were held 2–2 by Prison Leopards in a thriller. Gibson Banda’s 20th-minute strike gave Leopards the lead before Chipa Kambwena (50’) and Boris Tchatou (89’) turned it around for the hosts. But Erick Etiene broke Eagles’ hearts with a 96th-minute equalizer to ensure a share of the spoils.
In Lusaka, Zanaco claimed a 3–2 victory over Kabwe Warriors in a pulsating encounter. Warriors went ahead early through Kanguluma (8’), but the Bankers roared back with a Mandanji brace (44’, 54’) and a goal from D. Phiri (58’). Despite Tonga’s late strike (81’) for Warriors, Zanaco held on for all three points.
Elsewhere, Red Arrows beat F.C MUZA 1–0, keeping themselves firmly in the title picture, while Mines United fell 1–2 to Nchanga Rangers, who grabbed a precious away win.
Mutondo Stars edged Nkwazi 1–0, a vital result in their survival push. Meanwhile, defenses ruled the day in Green Buffaloes vs NAPSA Stars (0–0), Mufulira Wanderers vs Kansanshi Dynamos (0–0), and Konkola Blades vs Nkana (0–0)—three matches without a single goal.
With six rounds played, the MTN Super League continues to prove unpredictable. Goals may be scarce in some fixtures, but where they come, they arrived with drama.
