Power Shine, ZESCO Falter, ZPL Week 5 Tightens: Zambian football fans had plenty to cheer and ponder this week, both at home and on the continental stage. Power Dynamos, Zambia’s CAF Champions League representatives, kicked off their campaign in style with a 1–0 victory over Côte d’Ivoire giants ASEC Mimosas at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. Meanwhile, ZESCO United had a tougher outing in the CAF Confederation Cup, falling 2–0 away to Football Canon 105 in the first leg.
Back in the MTN Super League, Week 5 action delivered cagey encounters, with slim margins and crucial goals shaping the weekend. However lack of goals continue to haunt the MTN super league.

Week 5 was marked by low-scoring thrillers—six of the seven matches ended 1–0, highlighting the defensive discipline across the league. But also its a worrying signal of no formidable strikers in the league. Only FC Leopards and Mutondo Stars shared points in a dramatic 1–1 draw.
Meanwhile, on the continental front, Zambian sides will be looking to capitalize in the second legs of their CAF campaigns, with Power Dynamos aiming to finish off ASEC Mimosas, and ZESCO United needing to overturn their deficit.
