Mufulira Wanderers head coach Justin Chinama is probably still smiling ear to ear after their eight straight wins in the last eight games and the latest of those wins was awesome. They brat Mining Rangers 5 goals to nil in their own backyard.

They also took three vital points the other week against Kalulushi Modern Stars with a 2 nil scoreline. Let us also not forget the huge wins against Konkola Blades, Chambishi and that courageous away win in Luapula against ZNS Lwamfumu.

It might be fair to say that Mufulira Wanderers is going after promotion back to the super league at the end of this season but you won’t hear Chinama give any validation to this statement, at least, in front of the cameras and reporters but surely that is the message in camp and to his executive. ‘Mighty’ look good and FQMO Mining Operation should brace themselves for a tough experience at Shinde Stadium this Saturday afternoon.

FQMO Mining Operation, against all odds, are still looking good and are one of the exciting teams to watch this season but don’t expect them to come out fighting against this unstoppable Mufulira Wanderers team.

It will not be a surprise if we see this team come to Shinde with the Mourinho formula of “parking the bus” in the last third and look for those very few counter-attacking opportunities to catch the home side napping. They have only won twice in the last six games and that includes last week win against Kalulushi Modern Stars at home via a 2-0 scoreline but they have been poor on the road and there seem nothing to indicate otherwise in this fixture.

The challenge FQMO Mining Operations is facing is lack of goals and their 8 losses is testament to that fact. They have only scored 9 goals this season and allowed 12. They face a resurgent Mufulira Wanderers team that has only allowed the number of goals Mining Operations have scored (9) but are ruthless in attack with firepower that has been added upfront in John Zabwata Goma.

This is a game in which Mufulira Wanderers cannot afford to drop points since their closest rivals Indeni and Chambeshi have want look on paper as easy games against Mining Rangers and Roan United respectively with only Kansanshi Dynamos in a tricky affair with their fellow North Western rivals Trident.

If Wanderers are to maintain their point lead of 5 or even increase it, these are games just like against Mining Rangers that they should aim for maximum points.

With their winning streak of 8 games, it looks more of a home win.
