Zimbabwe are the champs of Cosafa 2017

Zimbabwe are the champs of Cosafa 2017 after they beat Zambia 3-1 in the cup final.  The Warriors have now collected this trophy for the fifth time beginning 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2009.

From early on Zambia tried to take stage with Justin Shonga and Jack chirwa both shooting wide. Until in 22′ Knox Mutizwa of Zimbabwe made a breakthrough.

It was a long ball assist by H. Moyo dropping into the box as the Zambia goalkeeper Allan Chibwe failed to collect slipping it into the net.

But Zambia leveled up from the first touch by substitute Lubinda Mundia minutes before the break. Lubinda had come in after Mike Katiba sustained injury and was forced out of the game.

And after the break Talent Chawapiwa came on tougher and in the 56th minute Zimbabwe restored the lead. He later set up Ocean  Mushure for the third goal that tarnished hope for the Wedson Nyirenda men.

Sunday Chidzambwa with his Warriors run unbeaten on the 2017 tournament with Talent Chawapiwa named as man of the match.
