Fashion Sakala gets his first goal at Ibrox. “I’m proud of the team fighting spirit and great victory” posted excited Sakala on his Instagram and “very happy to get my first Goal at our home IBROX in the presence of the fans.”
Stephen Gerrard’s Rangers F.C cruised to some unstoppable football ambiance when his Charges beat Real Madrid at Ibrox hill this afternoon and the Zambian International was at hand to make his official announcement of arrival in front of a capacity crowd.
It was Glasgow Rangers’ second match of the international friendlies as the teams keep shopping for the 2021-22 season.
Rangers who played to a barren draw in their first preparatory match against Brighton Hove and Albion shook off the slug and stepped the preparations up when they hosted the Spanish Giants.
It was Real Madrid who took the lead a few minutes into play through Rodrygo but Fashion Sakala mended the damage a few minutes on. The speedy Zambian winger collected a loose ball from a Realmadrid break down in midfield and powered forward with flirting trickery. The former KV Oostende man then spirited past two Realmadrid defenders and blasted it home from close range to score his first goal in Rangers colours.
Real Madrid’s woes deepened in the 75th minute when Nacho received his marching orders for a second yellow card and it didn’t take long before Cedric Itten pounced home from the box to put Rangers ahead. Rangers went on to win 2-1 as the Scottish Champions finished their pre-season in style.
Rangers won the Scottish league but will face fierce competition from their sworn rivals Celtic and Fashion Sakala already looks to be a signing Stephen Gerrard is proud to have made.
